Health & Safety Advice

Keep up to date to with industry requirements and safety regulations for Holiday Lets by joining Visit England, the government sponsored tourist information organisation. They have now introduced a basic entry level accreditation, which will give you access to the information you require to run your holiday let safely

 

Energy Performance Certificate

As with all rental property, ( unless a listed building ) you must now by law hold an E.P.C. for your holiday let property. They last for 10 years and are reasonably priced, so find your nearest EPC assessor for a quote

Small Business Rates

Your holiday let, will be deemed as a commercial property opposed to a domestic home. So will be required to be registered for Small Business Rates .

We would suggest this strengthens the asset class of your holiday let investment, especially if tighter controls are brought in to regulate the number of holiday lets permitted in an area at some future date.


Small Business Rates are currently heavily subsidised by local government, so in some cases could represent a saving to holiday let owners.

Find Local Cleaners, Laundry & Full Support Services

Cut out expensive holiday let management companies, there are an increasing number of cleaners and cleaning companies now geared up to provide the full support services you require :

  • Change over cleans ( provide own materials & equipment)
  • Change over laundry
  • Change light bulbs & smaller housekeeping duties (charged for as required)
  • Replenish toiletries / soaps / washing up liquid etc (charged for as required)
  • Replenish tea / coffee / sugar / milk / biscuits (charged for as required)
  • Report any problems or concerns to the owner / manage
  • Optional extra services - £Negotiable;
  • Act as Keyholder
  • By mutual appointment at your convenience meet any repair contractors or guests at the property during office hours only - £25 hourly rate charged
  • Holiday / sickness cover ( do you have a relative or friend who can cover for you, or would you like to team up with other housekeepers )
